The issue. Despite the considerable resources spent on road safety research, substantial data collection efforts and the enormous societal cost associated with this trauma; knowledge regarding safety issues is often incomplete, based on intuition, or ignored when current practices are considered. We are committed to change this reality by leveraging our experience in the field or road safety and applying our expertise delivering technology-based solutions.

The solution. OnTRAC has been developed to collect, manage and analyze police-reported collision and traffic volume data. By avoiding the need to "reinvent the wheel" our customers can quickly deploy a map-based solution in a client server or Web-based environment. This solution includes a component that manages traffic volume data including the import of raw count data as well the derivation of count estimates for all links and nodes in a road network. The other component of the solution provides the basic framework that provides end-users advanced network screening tools that can be used to develop countermeasures and reduce the incidence or severity of collisions. Our customers include transportation departments across Canada, law enforcement agencies and the insurance industry.
