Our knowledge of transportation is focused on two areas, road safety and strategic public transit and transportation planning. Dr. Harold Dalkie, co-founder of TRIMAP, leads our involvement in road safety. Dr. Dalkie has participated in hundreds of multi-disciplinary collision investigations and led the deployment and evaluation of numerous countermeasure programs at local and provincial levels. He is currently on the Canadian Association of Road Safety Professionals' Board of Directors. His doctoral research regarding development of a model to investigate road safety issues has led to development of the OnTRAC collision system. This integrated system is currently used by public sector agencies across Canada to collect, manage and analyze collision data.

Our second knowledge centre involves the strategic assessment of transportation investments, public transit and transportation planning. Dr. Richard Soberman, an internationally recognized expert in the field of transportation economics, intermodal transportation, strategic decision-making and transportation policy development, leads our effort in this field. As part of the TRIMAP team, Dr. Soberman has led development of the transportation component of the City of Toronto Official Plan, led a Team providing an investment-grade forecast of the fixed rail link to the Pearson International Airport and participated in the completion of a study to define Transport Canada's vision for public transit in Canada.
