For carriers of long distance, local, data and Internet-based services, not only are products and services subject to change; their pricing is based largely on complex usage-based pricing models. These models are different for specific products, services and customers and also must be changed as service offerings evolve. In this case, our client needed a flexible and reliable solution that could calculate billings for a wide range of services. To be successful, the solution would have to complement other existing billing systems and integrate into enterprise financial systems.

Solution
Working with our client, we developed a complete fixed and usage-based pricing model for all products and services. For the tricky usage component, the solution incorporated the ability to apply discounts, customer specific pricing and other customer or service-based exceptions. Once the base data is assembled from other sources, our solution calculates the applicable prices and then integrates the resultant data into enterprise financial and bill presentment systems.
